Matte BOPP labels have some printing restrictions because of their non-glossy surface finish. UV inks are recommended to ensure the printed image adheres to the film surface, and special coatings or overprints may be used to enhance print durability. Some designs or colors may not appear as bright or vibrant as they would on a gloss label.
Matte BOPP labels are typically applied using pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) or heat-activated adhesives. The self-adhesive PSAs make for easy and convenient application, while heat-activated adhesives are melted and applied directly to the product, usually with the help of a heat source or specialized heat-sealing machine.
